Course Objectives

By the completion of the course, the participant should be able to:

  3. Discuss the systems effects of lupus.

  4. Name and discuss the laboratory tests necessary to diagnose lupus.

  5. Understand both the benefits and adverse side-effects of the medications commonly prescribed for lupus.

  6. Discuss the role of complementary treatments in the management of lupus.

  7. Discuss the major issues concerning pregnancy and lupus.

  8. Understand how flare-ups occur and what can be done to decrease these events.

  9. Demonstrate awareness of the importance of achieving balance in daily life to overcome negative stress.

  10. Examine current life-style habits in order to effect the changes needed to improve over all health and reduce stress.
